I'm Amos White, a husband and working father who leads 100K Trees for Humanity tree-planting nonprofit, and the only renter and only west side resident running for City Council.
In 2020, 66 votes out of 48,000 cast kept me from a seat. We came within 66 votes, and this time, we're going to win!
Your vote, volunteer shift, and donation will decide this race.
This run isn't about ambition; it's about representation: working on a council whose diverse opinions reflect and serve every person, every community in our city.
Climate: Through CASA (Community Action for a Sustainable Alameda), I led 24 people from nine groups to pass Alameda's Climate Emergency Declaration.
Arts: Ten years into the Alameda Public Arts Fund, $0 had reached the community. I organized artists to demand transparency and open more than $200,000 in funding.
As a Democrat, I learned constituent service working for Senator John Glenn, how to mobilize thousands with Barbara Boxer, and how a few dedicated volunteers can flip an entrenched city district for Barbara Lee. With Indivisible-Alameda, I will stand with you to defend our democracy for all Alamedans.

- More Affordable Housing: Period. Keeping the city accountable to our RHNA housing goals, fighting for more affordable housing, workforce housing, housing for our unhoused residents.
- Increased Renter Protections: Amos is the only candidate who is a renter -- protecting renters rights, and being the renter advocate on council who represents the voice of renters.
- Our environment: funding the Climate Action and Shoreline Adaptation Plans, and treating sea level rise as the safety issue it is.
- Our children and working families: more affordable housing, increased ADU programs, and social programs and services families depend on.
- Protecting Immigrants & Non-Citizens: I will continue to fight to protect and to strengthen our Sanctuary City and expand civil protections to keep all safe as our commitment to being a welcoming city and community.
- Public Safety & Privacy: safer streets, cleaner air, and an Alameda where every person and every family can live and thrive; supporting the bond measure to assure all our critical public safety needs are well planned for and met; calling for a moratorium on AI data center industry businesses; cancelling Flock contracts.
- Good governance: a City Hall that is open, accountable, and is transparent before the public.
- A more democratic and resilient community: where the people can feel safe to show up are heard
It’s time for a change.
Alameda has kicked the can down the road for too long, deferring on the tough decisions that will soundly move our city forward.
I want your vote. Help me raise these issues and to hold our city accountable in meeting its goals to provide a safer, healthier community for all our residents.
I will work hard to hold our my colleagues on Council, the mayor and city manager accountable for providing the services that keep Alamedans, businesses, the public, and the environment safe, healthy and thriving.
I will strive to represent you and your voice in city hall.
I will continue to listen, to respect, and to fight for your voice to be heard at the meetings and on the streets.
And I will need your help to continue to show up to old me accountable as your city council member.
